ATLANTIC TROPICAL CYCLONE
TROPICAL STORM OPHELIA ADVISORY 1
NWS HCW/HURRICANE CENTER WIKI AL162011
2000 UTC WED SEP 21 2011

DiscussionEdit

This is the first advisory initiating Ophelia. It has existed prior to this advisory. Ophelia has been continuing to steadily strengthen and organize though she is slightly being sheared. Ophelia continues to accelerate towards the Lesser Antilles. The LLC is slightly exposed however it is tightening and should no longer be exposed later today. Ophelia is under a moderate amount of shear which is forecast to increase by the time she reaches the Caribbean, thus halting any intensification and slightly weakening Ophelia. Currently she is well stacked for her strength and dry air does not appear to be of an issue.
