ATLANTIC TROPICAL CYCLONE
TROPICAL STORM MARIA ADVISORY 4
NWS HCW/HURRICANE CENTER WIKI AL142011
2000 UTC SUN SEP 11 2011

DiscussionEdit

Maria is improving in organization and has been strengthening slowly but steadily over the past few days. Maria continues to have cold cloud tops over a large wind field and she is now getting better vertically stacked. The anti cyclone that was over Maria has been displaced to the south increasing shear but the shear remains in the moderate zone. Dry air is currently not being entrained into the system however there is dry air directly to the west of the system which is inhibiting some outflow bands.
